I am not a tech person so some of the instructions were a little mystifying to me, but it wasn't hard to work out once I studied the item (and the instruction booklet). There are two places where the appropriate buttons are in holes (I used a paperclip because that's all I had)...I assume to protect them from being hit accidentally. I have Windows 7--I had no problems downloading my scans. Because I'm on the older side with some arthritis in my hands, my biggest challenge is keeping the wand steady so the scan comes out whole but the scans that I have done successfully look very clean and nice. We've only had it a week or so and have run some limited tests with it thus far but based on what we've done with it thus far I'd have to give it a 4+ star rating. The somewhat limited documentation that comes with the device and no web site to visit might cause some problems for some but just play with it and you'll figure it out. That being said, the quality of the scans and the quickness of the scans are worth noting This is a relatively small and inexpensive hand held scanner and for the price it's pretty hard to beat. We've scanned 8 1/2 x11 color & b/w pages from various sources at low resolution and both of us are pretty impressed by the clarity of the scans. They throw in an 8 gig micro SD card and couple of batteries to boot. You're up and running in about ten minutes. The only reason I can't give this a 5 star rating is because I can't evaluate the...
